Adding and assigning judging criteria
Go to Admin → Setup → Judging Criteria. What this page looks like depends on the program's setup:
- Shared criteria (
criteriaScope: shared): one set of criteria used by every category, all weighted the same way everywhere. Edit the list and weights once; it applies program-wide. - Per-category criteria (the more common setup): a flat list of every judging criterion used anywhere in the program, each showing how many categories it's assigned to. Click a criterion to edit its description and, for each category it's linked to, that category's own weight, judging mode (online/on-site/both), and min/max score + step. The same criterion can carry a different weight in different categories.
Weights for a category's assigned criteria should add up to 100%: the edit page warns you if they don't. Use "+ New Judging Criterion" to create one and immediately assign it to categories, or assign an already-existing criterion to another category from that category's own edit page.
To see criteria in context with everything else in a category's entry/judging form, use "Preview Form" from that category's edit page or the 👁 icon on the Categories list.
Formatting. The criterion description field supports light formatting — type the syntax directly, no toolbar needed: **bold**, *italic*, ### a heading, - a bullet list, --- for a divider line, and [link text](https://example.com) for a link. Press Enter for a line break within the same paragraph, or leave a blank line to start a new paragraph. Plain text with none of these characters displays exactly as typed.
